Solid Woods Solid wood is milled from one solid piece of hardwood. Because of its thickness, a solid hardwood floor can be sanded and refinished over several generations of use. Solid wood floors come in either a lacquered or oiled finish.
Engineered Wood Engineered floors are made of several layers of thin wood that are stacked together and then glued. As a result, engineered wood flooring is unlikely to be affected by changes in humidity and can be installed in most areas in the home. Laminate Flooring Laminate flooring is a hard surface flooring that incorporates a melamine wear layer, a print layer, an inner core material, and a backing that are fused together to form a rectangular plank or squares with an interlocking tongue and groove system. Laminate floors are often beautiful replicas of real hardwood and ceramic tile patterns, and are a practical home flooring solution which is easy to care for.
